What is a metal halide lamp weather resistance test device (metal halide lamp weather meter)? It is a weather resistance test device that uses a metal halide lamp, a type of discharge lamp, as the light source.
Metal halide lamps emit about 20 to 30 times more UV rays than sunlight, and their acceleration factor is about 100 times that of sunlight and about 10 times that of xenon lamps.
Taking advantage of this excellent acceleration factor, they are mainly used in research and development departments.
This enables accurate and speedy weather resistance testing.
- The acceleration rate is more than 10 times that of weather meters and fade meters. The efficiency of research and development, quality control, and process management of plastics, paints, inks, pigments, fibers, etc. is further improved. What is a metal halide lamp?
Metal halide lamps have a light emitting tube filled with mercury, rare gases, and various metal halides, and emit a wide range of ultraviolet light from 200 to 450 nm.
The use of high-intensity ultraviolet light significantly speeds up weather resistance testing.
The strong deterioration power of ultraviolet light is concentrated and used.

The new UV irradiator has a new optical design that improves maintainability while maintaining the same testing performance.
The UV irradiation equipment has a newly designed optical equipment configuration, which has reduced the number of parts involved in lamp replacement, shortening work time and reducing replacement part costs. In the previous configuration, a filter was placed inside the water cooling jacket for the lamp, and this filter had to be replaced at the same time as the lamp, which was time-consuming and costly. The newly adopted optical filter is highly durable and hardly deteriorates due to heat or light during normal use. By adopting this filter and renewing the irradiation equipment, test results remained the same as before, and maintainability was improved.
