Saitama Railway Corporation Urawa Misono Railyard
A change to LED for railyard lighting creates a bright and safe lighting environment while achieving large-scale reductions in power consumption / Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture
Urawa Misono Railyard is a railyard on the Saitama Railway Line, located on the north side of the line's Urawa Misono Station. It has an area of 50,739.925m², and is used for carriage inspections and other work. As part of its promotion of power savings, the company carried out a change to LED lighting for the railyard in February 2017. Two units of 80W LEDioc FLOOD BLITZ LED floodlights were installed in place of the twin 400W mercury lamps that were previously installed on the power poles, while LEDioc FLOOD NEO and LEDioc FLOOD SPOLART lights were also installed depending on location to ensure a brightness equivalent to that of the previous lighting while also creating a lighting environment that contributes to maintenance savings. Power consumption has been reduced to less than half since the upgrade to LED lighting, and a bright and safe lighting environment has been realized while also achieving large-scale power savings.
The area around the storage tracks is lit with LEDioc FLOOD BLITZ and LEDioc FLOOD NEO lights, ensuring sufficient brightness and increasing safety at night.
