Installation date

March, 2022

Situated on an expansive site, Hitachinaka City Sports Park is equipped with a comprehensive array of facilities including a municipal baseball field, multipurpose indoor sports arena, athletics track, tennis courts and an open sports area.

As part of leasing maintenance works, the lighting of the main and sub arenas in the multipurpose indoor sports arena - as well as the area lighting in its vicinity - were updated to LED in March 2022. With the introduction of LEDioc HIGH-BAY Γ Wireless Control type 180W / 235W / 280W in the 2390m² main arena and LEDioc HIGH-BAY Γ Wireless Control type 235W in the 1060m² sub arena, a bright and high quality lighting environment has been created whilst also successfully delivering energy savings. Both arenas are used for a multitude of sports, including basketball, volleyball, handball and badminton, with the main arena also used as a tournament venue for matches in basketball's W League and volleyball's V League. Offering the capacity to configure and control a variety of illuminance levels and lighting arrangements to fulfil the demands of varying competitions and applications, the scheme is further enhanced by the functionality of the Wi-CONNECTY wireless control system; four output levels preset at 100%, 90%, 60% and 30% can be remotely enacted from the office through tablet operated controls, and furthermore it is also possible to control each luminaire individually and to set arbitrary dimming in 1% increments.

The exterior luminaires installed within the grounds of the City Sports Park to provide bright, safe lighting to the park during nighttime hours comprise a combination of high-efficiency LEDioc LED LIGHT BULB lamps which allow for the retention and reuse of existing luminaires through a simple lamp and driver replacement, LEDioc TOLICA-L luminaires which can be mounted on poles already in situ, and compact, lightweight LEDioc ROAD S street luminaires which have been designed for pathway lighting.
