  • A pleasant lit environment and energy savings have both been achieved through the installation of 64 units of LEDioc HIGH-BAY Γ Simple model 105W, which produce levels of brightness equivalent to metal halide lamps.

With its main campus (Osumi Campus) located in the Higashi-Yodogawa Ward of Osaka and enjoying good transport links with Zuiko 4-chome Station (Osaka Metro, Imazatosuji Line) approximately 2 minutes by foot, and Kami-Shinjo Station (Hankyu Kyoto Line) 15 minutes by foot, the Osaka School of Economics is a private university which positions itself as a "University-City Complex", making use of its location in the heart of Osaka as a key feature.

The university carried out lighting improvements at its sports hall in February 2021, with an upgrade of the lighting scheme to LED seeing the existing HID high-bay luminaires replaced by LEDioc HIGH-BAY Γ luminaires; the resulting scheme provides levels of brightness matching and exceeding its predecessor whilst also making significant contributions towards energy savings. The sports hall features numerous facilities for sports and fitness activities including a large playing area and training rooms, and is also equipped with a club room.

The lighting improvement works on this occasion were designed to provide a safe and comfortable lighting environment for the sports hall which is used for a variety of purposes including practice sessions for sports clubs, and also lectures. With glare reduction also factored in as a key consideration, surface guards were attached to the front of super wide beam angle versions of the chosen high bay luminaires, resulting in lighting environment that offers both brightness and uniformity.
