Fukuoka Prefectural Sports Science Information Center (Accion Fukuoka) is a comprehensive sports facility built to commemorate the "Tobiume Kokutai" National Sports Festival that was held in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1990. The three-story facility has a total floor space of 23656m² on a site 22900m² in size, and the second floor has a 1794m² (46m×39m) main arena with seating for 2000 spectators that can be used for official competitions such as those for basketball or volleyball. The building also includes a full range of facilities, including a sub-arena that can be used for a variety of sports, a multipurpose arena, training rooms and accommodation rooms.

As part of the ceiling renovation work carried out by Fukuoka Prefecture on the main arena in January 2018, a change to LED lighting equipment was made. The existing ceiling lighting was 4-lamp HID high ceiling lighting fixtures housing 1kW metal halide lamps, and this was replaced in the renovation with high color-rendering 420W LEDioc HIGH-BAY Γ LED high ceiling lighting fixtures, while the side lighting was upgraded from the existing 1kW metal halide lamp floodlights to high color-rendering 560W Type LEDioc FLOOD DUELL high ceiling lighting fixtures, ensuring the vertical-plane brightness required for television video recording while achieving a significant reduction in power consumption of around 57%. In addition, depending on the competition area-sectioning, brightness is at least the same, but on average has seen an improvement of 10%.

Ra80 high color-rendering is delivered, comfortably illuminating the main arena in anticipation of the 8K television broadcasting era, and both power savings and a high-quality light environment have been achieved.
