about

Installation date

October, 2025

As part of a city initiative to actively improve the sporting environment and facilities available to citizens in their local area, October 2025 saw the completion and opening of the Oita City South Sporting Exchange Square. Spanning approximately 11 hectares, the site includes a baseball field, soccer field and tennis courts, as well as an administrative building, a multi-purpose plaza, a natural grass lawn, and a parking lot for around 320 cars. Spanning 98m along each side and 122m along the center field, the natural turf baseball field is fully equipped with night game facilities and opened as the first municipal baseball field suitable for hard baseball for working members of society and high school students.

The lighting installation for the stadium features high-efficiency LEDioc FLOOD AVANT class 400 floodlights in a combination of wide and medium beam models, providing light coverage that is both efficient and highly uniform. The soccer field enjoys a similarly high quality lighting environment under LEDioc FLOOD AVANT class 250 floodlights, while the six sand-filled artificial turf tennis courts are illuminated by LEDioc TENNISTER class 300 fixtures, which feature light distribution control specifically designed for use on tennis courts; the LEDioc TENNISTER series is designed to ensure ample brightness within the area of play whilst minimizing light spillage beyond it, delivering optimal illuminance levels for play during hours of darkness.

The lighting control system is managed via the BOIQS barcode-based lighting panel, which allows the lights to be turned on and off through simply holding a 2D code over the panel, contributing towards labor saving usage procedures and management.
