LEDioc FLOOD DUELL lights safely and comfortably light a junior high school's multi-purpose sports ground

  • The power-saving LED floodlights have been arranged envisaging multi-purpose use.

  • Two 10-lamp stands and two 5-lamp stands of 310W LEDioc FLOOD DUELL lights have been installed on the south side of the sports ground, creating a pleasant night-game lighting environment.

Location

Minakami Municipal Tsukiyono Junior High School is a public junior high school in the town of Minakami in Gunma Prefecture, and in December of 2017 it installed new night-game lighting. The school's sports ground is used as a 100m racetrack after the sun has set, and envisaging additional use for a variety of purposes including baseball and soccer, highly efficient 310W LEDioc FLOOD DUELL LED floodlights, which have a brightness equivalent to 700W metal halide lamps, were chosen, with three 10-lamp stands being installed on the north side of the sports ground, and two 10-lamp stands and two 5-lamp stands on the south side, for a total of 60. An independent power supply for the sports ground was unable to be provided, so it became necessary to run roughly 150m of power line from the existing cubicles, which proved a challenge, but ultimately a pleasant and highly uniform night-game lighting environment was created. In addition to being used for the physical education lessons and club activities at the junior high school, the sports ground is also available for use free of charge by residents of the area, and it is lit in safety and comfort by light from power-saving LEDs that can provide light instantaneously.
