A railyard on the Hibiya line is upgraded to LED lighting, achieving significant reductions in power consumption and a bright, safe lighting environment
Add to My ListTakenotsuka Railyard is a Tokyo Metro railyard located on the west side of Takenotsuka Station on the Tobu Isesaki Line. The railyard has an area of 38631m² that runs north to south in alongside the Tobu Isesaki line, and is where periodic inspections of Hibiya-Line carriages and other carriage-inspection zone work is carried out.
Tokyo Metro is proceeding with the introduction of LED lighting for carriages and station facilities, including station premises, as a part of its promotion of power savings, and its railyards are also being changed to LED lighting in order when those upgrades take place. The Takenotsuka Railyard underwent the change to LED in March of 2018. 80W type LEDioc FLOOD BLITZ LED floodlights were installed in place of the twin 400W mercury lamp lighting that was installed on the existing electric-wiring poles. In addition, 40VA LEDioc STREET LED crime-prevention lights have been used in appropriate locations to create a lighting environment that contributes to power and maintenance savings while ensuring a brightness equivalent to that of the previous lighting.
The power consumption since the upgrade to LED lighting is down to less than half, realizing a significant reduction in power consumption while contributing to improved safety by brightly lighting the railyard at night.
