At the HONDA Motor Co., Ltd. the need to reinforce hygiene measures has been highlighted as essential following the circumstances of the past year, with infection control and prevention measures for employees being undertaken proactively. As part of these measures, the AIRLIA airflow UV purification system has been installed in the medical room at the quality Innovation center which is located in Haga Town, Tochigi Prefecture.
AIRLIA is a disinfection device which works by drawing in the surrounding air, removing bacteria and viruses from it through the use of a UV lamp as it passes through, and then discharging the treated air. The principle behind UV sterilization is to directly target the strands of DNA and RNA controlling the cells of the bacteria and viruses being treated, and rendering them inactive; consequently it is a technique in which confidence can be placed even in the event of sudden mutations in the target bacteria and viruses.
Chosen thanks to a recognition of key features such as its powerful sterilization capabilities removing 99.9% of bacteria with one pass (30W model), a product design based on safety which prevents against exposure of skin or eyes to the UV rays, and the benefit of low-maintenance thanks to a lamp which can run on a continuous 24 hour cycle for around one year without requiring replacement, AIRLIA is working to support the continual improvement of environmental hygiene at the site.
