Located a 5 minute walk from Keio Tamagawa Station on the Keio Sagamihara train line and blessed with a verdant natural environment, the Keio Tennis Club features 21 outdoor tennis courts and 5 indoor courts, and is regarded as one of the finest in the capital region. The membership based club boasts a comprehensive array of facilities including a well-equipped clubhouse, and 150 car capacity free parking area, in addition to its tennis school which caters for players of all ability levels from beginner to advanced, through a wide variety of outdoor, indoor, junior, and also player development courses.
Lighting improvement works were carried out on two of the outdoor courts in 2019, with high-output LEDioc FLOOD DUELL floodlights replacing the existing HID floodlights to provide a bright and pleasant light, achieving energy savings whilst also increasing the average illuminance level to 350ℓx. Whilst the LED floodlights contribute towards a reduction in maintenance requirements thanks to their LED modules offering an average rated life of 40000hrs, the safety of workers tasked with the maintenance and cleaning of the units was also a key consideration, resulting in the request for scaffolding platforms and stands with handrails which were subsequently incorporated into the design and installed.
Improvement works for the lighting on three further courts were carried out in 2021, with the existing HID floodlights replaced by LEDioc TENNISTER - a range of LED floodlights designed specifically for tennis court lighting. With average illuminance levels being raised to a bright 500ℓx, the balanced and uniform light provides a safe and pleasant visual environment where play can also be enjoyed during nighttime hours.
