Widely appreciated by locals as a place where they are able to enjoy a broad range of sporting and recreational activities, Kariwamura Gendo Sports Park is situated on a large site blessed with a rich natural environment, and is equipped with an expansive array of facilities which include a baseball field, tennis courts, gateball courts, a multipurpose field, athletics grounds and administrative buildings. Its baseball field spans 92m to the right and left field and 120m at center field, and offers an authentic playing experience thanks to its fully turfed outfield area, spectator seating, and large scoreboard.

Works carried out by Kariwa Village office to upgrade the lighting of the field were completed in March 2022, with 144 units of the high-efficiency LEDioc FLOOD AVANT class 400 floodlight replacing the existing scheme which comprised a combination of 108 units of 1000W metal halide floodlights and 36 units of 940W high pressure sodium floodlights; with no change to the number of installed units, the resulting scheme manages to match and surpass the illuminance levels of the previous scheme whilst also achieving significant energy savings. Mindful of limiting light spillage into surrounding areas, a combination of narrow beam and wide beam angle floodlights mounted upon lighting towers retained from the previous scheme is intelligently utilized to produce an efficient lighting scheme which focuses upon the field of play to provide appropriate illuminance levels.

The upgrade to high-efficiency, high-output, long life LED lighting, has brought a lighting scene which offers a comfortable playing environment even during nighttime hours.
