Located in Tokyo's Setagaya Ward, Odakyu Electric Railway's Shimokitazawa Station is a station on the Odakyu Electric Railway's Odawara Line that connects Shinjuku Station, a terminal station in Tokyo, and Odawara Station in Kanagawa Prefecture. The completion in March 2018 of a project creating quadruple tracks saw it transform into an underground station with a twin-layer structure, and in December of the same year the East Entrance opened as the new main entrance to Shimokitazawa Station, and this was followed by the opening of the Central Entrance ticket gates in March 2019. It is part of a multi-level intersection with the nearby Keio Inokashira Line Shimokitazawa Station, with the Odakyu Line station underground and the Keio Line station on ground-level.

The new station building is full of natural light and has a bright and modern feel, and diverse lighting displays befitting the Shimokitazawa district as a source of various cultural trends and also matching local events and the seasons are on show as part of illuminations on the glass-wall surface on its northern side. 120W LEDioc FLOOD FULL-COLOR LED floodlights, which have a free range of expression for various colors of light, have been installed on the large beam on the side of the building where the glass curtain wall is located, and by illuminating the upper section of the back wall, full-color light spreads throughout the entire space through interreflection to realize more effective lighting effects.

For lighting control, a LEDioc Color Controller DMX controller has been used, as it enables multiple-unit lighting effects through the use of programs made up of various scenes. In addition to creating scenery with soft light like that from paper lanterns by illuminating the space inside the station building with full-color light, and also creating twin-color gradation effects that change the color of the light according to the four seasons, lighting shows matching various events including Christmas and New-Year also take place, adding color to the new entrance to Shimokitazawa, an attractive and ever-evolving district that throngs with daily crowds of visitors.
