The Chubu Odan Expressway is a national expressway with a length of roughly 132km that extends from Shizuoka City in Shizuoka Prefecture to Komoro City in Nagano Prefecture, and passes through Kai City in Yamanashi Prefecture.

LED lighting was selected as the lighting equipment for the opened section of road, as it contributes to significant power savings while ensuring the brightness required for both the ICs and tunnel.

The section of road between Shin-Shimizu JCT and Tomizawa IC (approximately 21km in length) constructed by NEXCO Central was also opened on March 10, 2019. With the opening of both sections, approximately 70% of the section between the Shin-Tomei Expressway and the Chuo Expressway is complete, and Yamanashi Prefecture is connected to the Shin-Tomei / Tomei high-speed network for the first time, contributing to the formation of a regional expressway network.
