Lamps to safely light a road established to serve as a tsunami evacuation road and also contribute to the revitalization of the town
Add to My ListThe Ekimae Kaigan Line is an urban planning road that connects the Kashima Rinkai Railway's Oarai Station, which is the entrance to the town of Oarai, with the area around Ibaraki Harbor Ward on the coast. It was established as an important line serving as a tsunami evacuation road for the town of Oarai, which was damaged by the tsunami after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and opened in November of 2016. The line has a total length of 687m, and a width of 18m, with one vehicle lane and a 4.5m-wide pedestrian walkway on each side. In addition to its disaster-prevention function as an evacuation road in times of disaster, it connects the station with the coastal area where Oarai Marine Tower is, improving convenience for residents and tourists alike, and serving to revitalize the town. For the lights lighting this road, which has earned the nickname "Kirameki Dori (Sparkle Street)", proper positioning was adopted so that there were no dark spots on the pedestrian section, with omnidirectional light-distribution LEDioc AREA GENERO LED pole lights being installed so that any escaping light would reach the road. LEDioc ROAD LED road lights were installed at the intersections, brightly and safely lighting the new road with power-saving LED light.
