Creating a calm and refined nighttime setting in a peaceful neighborhood, through the illumination of a row of cherry trees with warm-colored LED pole lights
Add to My ListThe Funatsuka Sakura Street is a row of cherry trees lining the street in a peaceful neighborhood in Miyazaki City. Situated nearby, the verdant Miyazaki Municipal General Cultural Park (Miyazaki Sogo Bunka Koen) is equipped with a wide-ranging array of municipal cultural facilities, including an arts theater, an art gallery, and a library; linking its South Entrance and the Miyazaki Municipal University which lies to its South, this row of cherry trees has come to be known as the Funatsuka Sakura Street.
Giving due consideration to the site's residential setting and the subsequent importance of minimizing light pollution, the LED pole light LEDioc AREA TOLICA-L was selected for this lighting improvement project; the lights have been installed at a lower height, and a supplementary shade attachment has been used to suppress vertical light diffusion.
Providing an element of continuity from the ambiance generated by the high pressure sodium (HPS) lamps previously used, a very warm white color option was selected for the new lights, bathing the route in a calming light and creating a safe and comfortable lighting environment at night, whilst also producing energy savings.
