  • A view of the Alps Exit on the Shinkansen Station side. MITIS lights with warm 70W/3000K light sources light the pedestrian area, creating a relaxed atmosphere.

Location

In conjunction with the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Itoigawa City renovated the Itoigawa Station building and established north and south station-front plazas. The design for the station building is one with an image of "a station in the embrace of both the Sea of Japan and the Northern Alps and providing a sense of magnificent nature", and offers an unbroken view of the Sea of Japan from its northern platform.

The northern exit on the non-Shinkansen line side is the Nihonkai Exit directly facing the Sea of Japan, while the southern exit on the Shinkansen line side is the Alps Exit, and roundabouts, bus-stops, taxi platforms, waiting areas and shelters were established at the station-front plazas. MITIS lights have been used for the streetlights lighting the walkways along the station-front road that connects with the Alps Exit station-front plaza, gently lighting the pedestrian space with warm, 3000K CERA ARC light.

Power-saving LEDioc ROAD LED streetlights have been installed as the station-front plaza streetlights. Meanwhile, simple-design LEDioc AREA ALIVIO streetlights have been installed for the parking lot below the overhead structures, increasing safety at night.
