In conjunction with the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen, Jyoetsumyoko Station was newly established in the southern section of Joetsu City. As the entranceway to Echigo Country, which is a collaboration between the 5 cities of Jyoetsu, Myoko, Kashiwazaki, Tokamachi and Sado, the city of Joetsu established a station building and station-front plaza to become a highly convenient symbol of the area, and also commenced development of the area around the station. The highly attractive area is aiming at development as a global tourist city. LED lighting including LEDioc ROAD LED roadlights and LEDioc AREA MITIS Arm-type LED streetlights were used to light the areas around the East-Exit and West-Exit station-front plazas. The area around the station is brightly and comfortably lit with environmentally conscious and power-saving LED light.
