about

Installation date

January, 2021

Seeking to reduce the city's environmental impact as part of an environmental conservation and regeneration plan, the City of Nagoya is actively undertaking the change of all public facility lighting to LED.

As part of this program, the 2116 lighting fixtures installed across the parks in the city wards of Chikusa-ku, Higashi-ku, Kita-ku, Naka-ku, Showa-ku, Moriyama-ku, and Meito-ku were all updated and upgraded to LED lighting on a lease-to-own model contract in January 2021. The City of Nagoya has certain unique standards in place relating to the use of LED lighting in installations such as city parks and outdoor lighting; recognized as an approved luminaire by meeting and satisfying all of these criteria, the LED pole light LEDioc AREA TOLICA-L was selected for this project.

Changing the lighting to LED in areas such as the parks which are emblematic to Nagoya - including the popular Meijo Park, a site of around 80ha centered around Nagoya Castle in the heart of the city and offering an array of recreational equipment, and Tsuruma Park, which holds a multi-faceted appeal as the oldest in Nagoya and home to numerous historical buildings as well as cultural and sporting facilities - a comforting and safe environment has been created with light which is also contributing towards energy savings.
