Mihama Town Comprehensive Sports Park includes the Mihama Municipal Comprehensive Gymnasium, which features a range of functional training equipment in spacious premises, as well as tennis courts, playgrounds, and a baseball stadium, and is also where you can go boating on Kugushi Lake. The surrounding area includes the Five Lakes of Mikata (one of which is Kugushi Lake), and the park is popular with local residents as a place to enjoy a variety of sports surrounded by beautiful and rich nature.

In conjunction with the baseball stadium at the park being used as the venue for hard-rubber baseball at the "Fukui Shiawase Genki Kokutai" National Sports Festival held in Fukui Prefecture in 2018, the town of Mihama changed the lighting for the paths in the park to LED lights, replacing the existing mercury lamps with LED lamps that use environmentally friendly solar power.

The town is also a municipality that is focusing on the use of natural energy to "create a new town with renewable energy", and so LEDioc AREA D type LED solar lights were chosen this time as the LED lighting for the paths in the park. The lights were installed at the park entrance, the parking lot, the tennis courts, and the on the main path in the park leading to the multipurpose ground, maintaining the brightness of the guiding lines with environmentally friendly lighting. Furthermore, while the existing lighting poles were a white color, brown was used as the designated paint color in order to seek a sense of harmony between the existing lighting towers and the trees along the park paths.
