Omron Corporation's Keihanna Technology Innovation Center is a research and development facility based in Kansai Science City, located in the hills not far from Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara. Established in 2003, the site is 71883 square meters and the building features a low-rise design with 30000 square meters of floor space- three above ground and one below. The facility is environmentally conscious, designed in harmony with the surroundings. The retrofit project for the Keihanna parking area was completed in August of 2015, with LEDioc Approach Quallis LED lights installed in place of an outdated fluorescent system. LEDioc Approach Quallis LED lights were specified for their compatibility with the surrounding environment and ease of installation. The change to LED lighting was done to save energy, upgrade the style and appearance, and to improve the quality of light. The retrofit has been well received, with employees commenting on how the new bright white lights increase general visibility and create a greater sense of safety going to their cars at night.
