Add to My ListOpened in 1960 as the first dedicated soccer stadium in Japan, the Omiya Park Soccer Stadium (presently NACK5 Stadium Omiya) is a venue rich in history and tradition which has gone on to host a great number of matches; the stadium took on its present guise as the NACK5 Stadium Omiya following extensive renovation works and the incorporation of stadium naming rights in 2007. Home to J League side OMIYA ARDIJA and professional women's side OMIYA ARDIJA VENTUS of the WE League, the spectator seats of the 15600-seater (plus 90 wheelchair seating points) stadium lie in close proximity to the pitch side, seeing the stadium come to be widely appreciated and enjoyed by many as a place where spectators can truly feel close to the heart of the action as they watch matches.
In March 2022 the city of Saitama carried out improvement works on the lighting columns at the facility, during which the existing HID floodlights were replaced with the latest version of high-output type LEDioc FLOOD DUELL 1400W type floodlights. Offering high color rendering of Ra90 to meet the requirements for broadcasting in 4K and 8K definition, the floodlights can also be used to create a wide variety of lighting displays through combination with a DMX interface and the ITACS-LC lighting controls system. At pitch level the scheme not only satisfies current J League regulation illuminance levels, but also provides futureproofing against any future augmentation of the standards, with a design illuminance level of 2000ℓx.
With consideration for its location within a residential district, the floodlights have also been fitted with louvers where necessary so as to limit light spillage into the surrounding areas, with horizontal louvers being the chosen configuration following 3D modelling. Producing ample illuminance levels at pitch level whist restricting glare and light spillage to surrounding areas, the result is a lighting scheme befitting of this soccer-specific stadium rich in history and tradition.
