Used for swimming lessons by the elementary school, and for club activities by the university, the pool is gently illuminated with warm LED light to create a pleasant visual environment

Location

In October 2021 Japan Women's University undertook lighting improvement works at the swimming pool, which is part of the comprehensive lineup of sporting facilities at its affiliate, Homei Elementary School.

Incorporating a curved design to provide a softer impression to infants, the depth of the pool can be adjusted to meet the requirements of varying age groups and lesson objectives, and it is widely used not just by elementary school students but also by university sports clubs. For the improvement works which saw the existing HID luminaires upgraded to LED, an incandescent color version of the special use LEDioc FLOOD NEO for Indoor Pools floodlight was selected to provide lighting that is in harmony with the gentle ambiance of the pool.

Softly illuminating the pool with LED lighting that contributes towards creating a low energy and low maintenance installation, has resulted in the establishment of a safe and pleasant lit environment.
