Located in Oyama City in Tochigi Prefecture, Oyama Sports Park is an athletic park with a full range of facilities including a baseball stadium, soccer field, tennis courts and athletics field. Surrounded by trees, the greenery-rich park also features a jogging track, an open area with a variety of playground equipment, and a pond, and is popular with citizens as a sport and recreation area.

With the tentative decision to use the baseball stadium as the venue for the hard-rubber baseball tournament at the National Sports Tournament scheduled to be held in 2022, as well as it being the home base of the Tochigi Golden Braves, Tochigi Prefecture's professional baseball team belonging to the Japan Association of Independent Professional Baseball League and the Baseball Challenge League, construction work was carried out by Oyama City in March 2018 to install new night-game lighting and renovate the scoreboard to change it to an LED electric scoreboard.

830W type LEDioc FLOOD DUELL high-performance LED floodlights were used as the night-game lighting equipment to comfortably illuminate the dirt infield and natural-turf outfield of the full-fledged baseball field, creating a nice, bright and highly uniform lighting environment. The lighting satisfies the Class-II level conditions for regulation baseball (infield: 750ℓx and uniformity of 0.6; outfield: 500ℓx and uniformity of 0.5), while a set brightness of 1000ℓx has been secured to brighten the zone between the pitcher and catcher.
