National Route 150 Shizuoka BypassShizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture
LEDioc ROAD lights safely light a bypass contributing to the relief of chronic traffic congestion
Add to My ListNational Route 150 starts in both Shizuoka City and Hamamatsu City, and connects the central and western areas of Shizuoka Prefecture along the coast. It supports the industrial economies of the regions along that route, and is a principal main road with a total length of roughly 121km that also plays the role of a sightseeing highway connecting a great number of scenic locations. The National Route 150 Shizuoka Bypass Project aims to reduce the chronic traffic congestion on the narrow sections of current roads in Nakajima from Shimojima in Shizuoka City's Suruga Ward, ensure safe and smooth traffic, and improve the current roadside environment, and is a project to establish a planned overhead structure with a total length of 2.3km. LEDioc ROAD LED roadlights were used for the Route 150 overhead bridge. They feature power-outage compensation functionality in the form of an internal battery that can ensure their illumination with emergency battery power in the unlikely event of a power outage, and offer support in the form of safety and peace-of-mind should a blackout occur. Furthermore, if a Tsunami heralded by a large earthquake should occur, the overhead bridge can also serve as an emergency transport route after the water has subsided.
