Meiji University is a Tokyo-centric, inner-city private university with four campuses: Surugadai, Izumi, Ikuta and Nakano. Located a 5-minute walk from the Meidai-Mae Station on the Keio and Inokashira lines, the Izumi campus is a tranquil, open campus surrounded by seasonal flowers and greenery, with good access to the city center about 10 minutes away. The campus is equipped with a full range of facilities, including a main school building and a media building, a library, student cafeteria, gymnasium and sports ground, and the students at the six humanities faculties there lead a peaceful student life.

As part of the promotion of power savings at Meiji University, lighting renovation work was carried out on the Izumi campus premises in June 2018 involving an update to LED lighting. For the outside lights, LEDioc AREA TOLICA-L LED pole lights, which can make use of existing poles, were selected, promoting power savings while ensuring a brightness equal to or greater than that of the previous lighting, and the campus is now safely illuminated in a spreading light.

The wall-mounted floodlights installed on the outer walls of the east wing of the gymnasium have also been upgraded to compact, simple-design LEDioc FLOOD NEO LED floodlights, improving the sense of brightness and enhancing nighttime safety.
