about

Installation date

August, 2016

Chiba City changed the lighting equipment for its "Central Arch" arch bridge on the Chiba City Monorail, and from August of last year commenced its year-round illumination displays. The existing lighting fixtures that used metal halide lamps with color filters had deteriorated due to age, and so 4 units of LEDioc FLOOD BLITZ FULL COLOR full-color LED floodlights that are able to freely display a variety of colors were installed. Previously the bridge had been illuminated using just a yellow color, but the change to the fullcolor LED floodlights that can switch between a variety of colors has enabled colorful lighting options, and illumination displays involving tie-ups with events held in the central park and various campaigns are taking place, all while achieving large-scale reductions in fees for electric power usage. The standard pattern is a yellow color, which is the PR image color celebrating Chiba City's 890 years as a city, from Monday to Saturday, with Sundays featuring illumination using a blue color in the image of the seaside towns, and a variety of different lighting patterns coordinated with different events meaning that the arch-shaped piers, which are a symbol of the heart of Chiba City, always feature attractive illumination. The LED lighting illumination also has improved operability, with a switch installed on the distribution board stopping the yearly lighting program and playing a specially tailored one when pressed, enabling city workers to switch the program when required on an ad-hoc basis.
