Ikoma Sanjo Amusement ParkIkoma City, Nara Prefecture
Bright, pleasant lighting at a mountaintop amusement park enjoyed across all ages and boasting wonderful views
Add to My ListSituated at the 642m high summit of Mount Ikoma, Ikoma Sanjo Amusement Park offers magnificent views across the Nara Basin and the plains of Osaka. Home to the "Flying Tower" plane ride which is considered the oldest operational amusement park ride in Japan, the park features a wide variety of attractions and has continued to be much loved by children and adults alike since its opening in 1929; during the summer months when it remains open in the evenings, it is also a popular scenic spot where many come to enjoy the nightscape.
Timed for completion ahead of reopening in March 2024 after closing for the winter, the park carried out a program of improvement works which included the opening of new attractions, updating the on-site dining facilities, and site-wide LED lighting upgrades. In addition to updating the lighting along the routes within the park and at the parking lots, the new "Shooting Ride Beam★Stars" attraction has been furnished with feature lighting, helping contribute to a lively nighttime setting. One of the key features of the park is its retro aesthetic and ambiance, and with the installation of LEDioc FLOOD SPOLART floodlights at the parking facilities and LEDioc FLOOD NEO floodlights along the routes within the park, the lighting scheme stays true to this whilst providing bright, secure lighting.
For the feature lighting of the new attraction, a combination of LEDioc FLOOD SPOLART and LEDioc FLOOD NEO floodlights in incandescent color type illuminate its colorful entrance, while cool white color LEDioc FLOOD NEO floodlights illuminate the main part of the attraction to augment its visual impact.
