Miyazaki Prefectural Nichinan Hospital is one of the prefecture's three hospitals, and functions as a central hospital in the southern part of Miyazaki Prefecture. As a medical institution that can provide comprehensive medical care, it cooperates with local medical institutions and is responsible for acute-phase medical care, advanced medical care, and emergency medical care, etc.

The hospital carried out a refurbishment of its lighting equipment in March 2019, and as the lighting to illuminate the parking area and facility exterior, installed LEDioc AREA TOLICA-L lights, which can be used on existing poles, in place of the existing single and twin 250W mercury lamps. By upgrading to lamp fittings with a brightness equivalent to 400W mercury lamps, brightness has been improved while realizing significant power savings. In addition, shades have been used as an option to control upward light-bleed and illuminate more efficiently. Feedback has been positive for the installation of shades on simple-design lighting fixtures to create a design that blends in better with the surrounding environment.

The LED lights that illuminate the area around the parking lot improve the sense of brightness of the overall space, and at the same time security-camera visibility has also improved, creating a safe and comfortable lighting environment at night.
