Jissen Women's Educational Institute 120th-Anniversary Memorial Projects Shinmei AreaHino City, Tokyo
LED solar lamps installed at a vast, 26000m² sports ground, providing safety and comfort with their light
Add to My ListIn 2019, Jissen Women's Educational Institute will see its 120th anniversary since establishment, and accordingly is currently implementing a variety of "120th-Anniversary Memorial Projects". As part of the projects, in April 2014 it re-established a new campus at the location in Shibuya where it once had school buildings, and transferred the Departments of Literature and Human Society from its Hino-campus (in Hino City's Osakaue), and the Vocational College Department from its Shinmei campus (in Hino City's Shinmei), to that location, putting in place a new, two-campus educational environment/system in metropolitan Shibuya and regionally focused Hino. The site of the old campus that was until now used as the location of the Vocational College Department was repurposed into a vast sports ground with roughly 26000m² of space. The site is blessed with nature and has a residential area close by, so lights that don't disturb the environment have been installed. The location also serves as an evacuation area in times of emergency, so LEDioc AREA type-D LED solar lamps have been used, creating a comfortable and safe lighting environment that can continue to function even in the unlikely event of a commercial power outage due to a disaster such as an earthquake or typhoon.
