Changing station platform lighting to LED to achieve large-scale power savings and a highly uniform and pleasant light environment
Add to My ListTamasakai Station is a station on the Keio Sagamihara Line in Oyamagaoka, in Tokyo's Machida City. It is an above-ground station with 2 lines and 2 facing platforms, and in February of 2017 the Keio Corporation completed work to install LED lighting for the Tamasakai Station platforms. The existing lights were 300W mercury pole-lamps and under-eave lighting, along with under-eave trough-shaped fluorescent lamp fixtures, but in order to ensure uniform brightness on the station platforms, they were upgraded to LEDioc AREA ALIVIO lights with horizontal light distribution and LEDioc FLOOD NEO lights with ultrawide-angle light distribution. They light the entire platform with well-balanced LED light while taking into account light-bleed into the surrounding area, and create a pleasantly lit space while also contributing to reductions in power consumption.
