  • Featuring an all-weather 9-lane 400m track, natural turf field and large-scale video screen, the stadium enjoys a high quality lighting environment delivered by high-output LEDioc FLOOD DUELL 1500W type floodlights.

  • View towards the main stand. At full output the lighting scheme more than meets the J League standard illuminance level of 1500ℓx, while delivering a fresh and vibrant sporting setting with high color rendering light.

  • LEDioc FLOOD DUELL 1500W type floodlights providing the high color rendering (Ra80) required for high definition broadcasting have been mounted on the four existing lighting towers which have been retained and reused.

  • A light display spelling out "THESPA" with the floodlights, made possible through DMX controls.

Situated within the grounds of Shikishima Park which is furnished with a variety of sporting and recreational facilities, Shoda Shoyu Stadium Gunma is an athletics stadium which lies at the heart of "Sporting Prefecture Gunma" and is dear to many people of the area.

Featuring an all-weather 9-lane 400m track, natural turf field and a large-scale video screen, not only is the stadium the only one in the prefecture to be accredited as a JAAF (Japan Association of Athletics Federations) Class 1 Track & Field stadium, and it is also the home of J League side Thespakusatsu Gunma.

In February 2024 the prefectural authorities carried out repairs and improvements on the lighting facilities at the athletics stadium, updating from the existing HID floodlight installation to high-output LEDioc FLOOD DUELL 1500W type floodlights. In addition to meeting the official J League illuminance criteria of 1500ℓx across the field, the whole area within the stadium enjoys an average illuminance of over 1000ℓx, providing a bright and highly uniform sports lighting environment with LED light which contributes towards energy savings. Furthermore, through combining with the ITACS-LC lighting controls system and DMX controls it is possible to create a wide variety of lighting displays that can also be enjoyed outside match or competition times.
