Pacific Golf Management Co., Ltd. (PGM) is one of the largest golf course management companies in Japan, owning and operating 150 courses across the country from Hokkaido to Okinawa. As part of its efforts to counter against the extreme heat of recent summers, PGM has been expanding the number of its golf courses that are open at night. With seven of its courses already open at night, expansion of the program to courses including the Imperial Country Club (Inashiki City, Ibaraki Prefecture), Tajimi Kita Golf Club (Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture), Mukonodai Golf Course (Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture), and Fukuoka Lakeside Country Club (Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture), has brought the total number of courses open at night to 12. Since operating the scheme, it has been noted that the opening of the courses at night has helped to attract a broader range of customers, with an increasing proportion of younger people and women compared to the usual daytime clients. To further increase familiarity with the scheme for all, PGM has standardized the designation of the program as "Night Golf", seeking to encourage yet more new golfers. A major attraction of night golf is the fantastically illuminated atmosphere, which provides an ambience different from that which is enjoyed in the daytime. In addition to providing a beautiful setting, temperatures are cooler and more comfortable than the daytime, and with no need to worry about UV rays, it is particularly good for those who may be concerned about sunburn.

The quiet and the tranquillity of the course at night can also help improve concentration and provide a different challenge, while another advantage is the possibility of playing after work and not being limited to daylight hours. Installed in 2024, the lighting scheme incorporates the latest LED lighting technology and delivers a high design illuminance of over 150ℓx in the tee area, over 50ℓx along the fairways, and over 150ℓx on the greens, making it one of the brightest in Japan. The flight of the ball and the undulations of the green can be seen more clearly than ever, allowing for a comfortable playing environment.

Located in a prime location looking out over the Hokusetsu Mountain Range which is centered around Mt. Hatsuka, and with the Sanda Plains below it, Mukonodai Golf Course is one of the premier public courses in the Kansai region. The front nine holes are all separated by pine forests and feature a number of wide, tough holes, while the back nine are characterized by a more strategic layout requiring more precise shots, making the course as a whole enjoyable both for advanced players and beginners. Mukonodai Golf Course commenced its night golf offering in March 2025, installing LEDioc FLOOD AVANT class 400 floodlights to provide the main lighting for the holes and using LEDioc FLOOD NEO FULL-COLOR floodlights for colored effects. Additionally, LEDioc RECT luminaires have been installed to illuminate the spaces between courses, and LEDioc AREA TOLICA-L fixtures to illuminate the parking facilities.
