Road Lighting Service Area
Tomei Expressway Komakado Parking Area (Outbound Line)Gotenba City, Shizuoka Prefecture
An outdoor lighting plan for a parking area with a view of splendid Mt. Fuji
Add to My ListThe new Komakado Parking Area (outbound line) on the Tomei Expressway between Gotenba and Susono interchanges opened in April of 2017, with parking for 50 small and 35 large vehicles. As it sits alongside the National Route 246 highway, it has an entry/exit and parking area that allows access to and from local roads, and also provides parking slots for large vehicles. LED lighting fixtures have been used for the parking areas and pedestrian walkways from the viewpoint of power savings, with LEDioc AREA ALIVIO and LEDioc TENNISTER lights installed for the former, and LEDioc AREA QUALLIS type-D lights installed for the latter. The Komakado Parking Area is located in Mt. Fuji's Susono area, and because the splendid visage of Mt. Fuji is visible on clear days, the lighting environment gives sufficient consideration to this scenery, keeping the height of the poles for the LEDioc AREA ALIVIO lights low at 5m to ensure a view of the mountain. The lighting plan also stresses harmony with the environment by joint use of the lighting poles for cameras and broadcast loudspeakers in order to avoid an excess of poles, as well as a dark-brown paint color that takes in to account their location.
