Kamayadani Tsukada Line Urban Planning Road is an important main road running through the central urban area of Wajima City, and it is lined with many lacquerware-related facilities that play an important role as a base for tourism in Wajima city. In the section involving the current project, the roadway section hindered the passage of large vehicles due to a lack of road shoulders, while comfortable walking was obstructed by power poles, so the project, which got underway in FY2012, aimed to ensure a comfortable pedestrian space, improve access from major sight-seeing areas and create a beautiful townscape by widening the roadway and removing the power poles. The pavement on the sidewalk employs a color scheme involving the Wajima lacquer-coating colors of black and scarlet. In addition, Japan Heritage-registered Kiriko-type light fixtures and footlights equipped with space to exhibit lacquerware create a pedestrian area that allows one a sense of the local culture and traditions. Furthermore, in conjunction with the road maintenance, landscape rules have been formulated for the rebuilding of any roadside buildings, combining traditional Kura and Hamaya designs to create harmonious and bustling roadside scenery evocative of the image of lacquer.

The Kamayadani Tsukada Line Urban Planning Road Establishment Project was advanced by positioning the road as "Wajima Central Lacquer Road", due to the lacquerware stores and lacquer-related facilities located along the road. In conjunction with the establishment of the road, the project collaborated with local residents on initiatives to preserve and create the landscape scenery, including the creation of a "Landscape Urban Development Agreement", which has resulted in the creation of a town that provides a sense of tradition and culture. For the lights illuminating the street, which has become less cluttered by widening the road and removing the power poles, Kiriko-type light fixtures and stone pillar-type footlights have been installed to create tasteful nighttime scenery in harmony with the townscape. After carrying out on-site comparison experiments involving light colors and granite hues, incandescent 22W LEDioc LED Light Bulb G lights were used as the footlights in white granite stone pillars. The soft light from the sides of the lighting fixtures provides safe underfoot lighting for pedestrians, while that escaping from the top illuminates the lacquerware on display in the footlights, playing a role in disseminating the lacquer culture of Wajima.
