The Roppongi Hills branch of Iwaki, a well-established glasses retailer, reopened after renovation in March of this year. The new store is located on the fourth floor of the West Walk, which was created as a high-end men's casual fashion zone, and features a rich lineup with a focus on import brands and with a theme of enchanting merchandise. In the store design, wood-grain fixtures have been arranged effectively along the wall surfaces for a metropolitan space with a clean layout, while also taking care to create a store with a relaxed atmosphere and a sense of the high-class. The entrance to the store has been made wide and open, with the design sufficiently considerate of creating an image in harmony with the shared section that has been reborn into a high-quality space lined with high-end fashion brands. LED lighting has been used for all of the lighting illuminating the stylish store, including base and indirect lighting. The base lighting uses 42W-class compact fluorescentlamp LED downlights, while the lighting for the merchandise on the fixtures uses 35W-class compact metal halide-lamp LED universal downlights (wide-angle light distribution), with the overall brightness of the store being guaranteed while effectively lighting its fixtures. For the LED lighting built into the wood-grain box fittings, their locations were decided after testing, paying detailed attention to the light distribution and angles that would most attractively display the merchandise. The selection for the store interior is essentially incandescent (3000K) in color, with neutral (5000K) LED lighting used for the customer service counter area and shelf lighting, and it is believed that a favorable lighting environment with overall balance has been created by taking a more vivid display of merchandise colors into account.
