Operating a nationwide network built up from its base in Niigata Prefecture, Niigata Unyu Co., Ltd. is an all-encompassing logistics company covering a wide scope of activities including warehouse storage, distribution processing, customs clearing, and tourism activities - in addition to its core business of transport and logistics. One of the key features of the business is the high levels of care and service across their transport activities, giving them the capacity and ability to also handle more complicated items such as precision parts and chemical products.

With the vastly heightened demand for antiseptic and disinfectant solutions arising from the spread of Coronavirus, a new hazardous goods storage facility was constructed at the company's Joetsu Branch in April 2022 to provide a dedicated storage distribution warehouse for such goods. Divided into two zones, each spanning an area of 174.74m² and with Zone 2 (Class 2 Hazardous Area) designated as the hazardous goods storage area, the warehouse is illuminated by compact and lightweight LEDioc EX DIO Z1 explosion-proof high-bay LED luminaires; equally compatible for use across both zones (Class 1 & 2 Hazardous Areas), the luminaires were also chosen thanks to their suitability for installation and supporting way to the building structure. Despite its integrated power supply unit, LEDioc EX DIO Z1 still manages to offer a significant lightening of the physical load, which in turn helped to reduce both the works required during installation phase, as well as the physical load upon the building structure itself.

Furthermore with the luminaires producing illuminance levels of 250ℓx through a consumption of just 42.1W and matching the output of 400W mercury vapor lamps, a lighting environment that is both energy-saving and aesthetically pleasing has helped to create a safe and pleasant working environment.
