Location

Osaka-cho in Gero City is famous for having the most number of waterfalls in Japan, and flowing through the town is the Osaka River, one of the best pure streams in the prefecture. The Yuya Purification Center was developed as the new sewage treatment plant in the Akanumata district of Osaka-cho endowed with abundant nature. It is designed to treat 686 cubic meters of water a day and since Osaka River where the water is released is a pure stream inhabited by sweetfish and char, the UV disinfection system EYE Drain Pure was introduced particularly in consideration of the impact on the river. As EYE Drain Pure does not add chemical substances to the treated water as with chlorination, there is less residual chlorine in the released water, and as such, it is an environmentally friendly disinfection appliance that has no impact on the ecosystem of the river. In addition, as part of the UV rays acts on the DNA of viruses and bacteria to allow them to be growth-inhibited and be wiped out, EYE Drain Pure has an effect on the inactivation of viruses as well as the disinfection of Escherichia coli.
