LEDioc EYELIGHT (Railway-Crossing LED lighting fixtures) are a new LED product developed as an alternative for conventional HID railway crossing lighting fixtures (typically using 250W mercury reflector lamps). The new LED models are now being utilized by Keisei Electric Railway Co., Ltd. The SP100W LEDioc LED lamps used as the light sources ensure a brightness equivalent to or greater than 250W mercury reflector lamps, while achieving roughly a 58% reduction in the amount of power used. These Railway-Crossing LED fixtures feature front-panel louvers on the light sources to avoid both operators and pedestrians being subjected to excessive glare. The LED arrays used also are designed to control the light-distribution and in combination with the louvers achieve an optimal spread of light for railway crossing applications. The new LED types also have reduced the level of maintenance required compared with conventional HID fixtures.
