Location

Located in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Sendai Power Station is a thermal power plant equipped with LO-NOx burners and a two-stage combustion system employed to suppress the generation of nitrogen oxides, as well as environmental protection equipment for exhaust gases, including DeNOx system and FDG equipment and an electrostatic precipitator. The facility works to reduce its environmental impact by preventing air pollution through removal nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides, and particulate matter, preventing water contamination through wastewater treatment equipment, and taking other measures to reduce noise and vibration, such as adopting low-noise and low-vibration equipment and installing soundproof walls around boilers.

In September 2024 a number of LEDioc LED Walkway Light Handrail Mount type luminaires were installed on a trial basis along the upper handrails of the plant cooling tower stairs. A specialist industrial lighting fixture, the compact, lightweight and sealed LED lighting fixture is designed for mounting on handrails and poles, and features a design preventing the fixture from protruding beyond the line of the handrail.

Following a successful one year trial period in an area adjacent to the port and prone to salt corrosion, with no problems such as paint peeling, rust, or lighting malfunction, the fixture remains in continuous use today.
