Kuraki Co., Ltd. is a machine-tool manufacturer that develops, manufactures and sells a wide range of machine tools and supports manufacturing sites in Japan and around the world.

As one of its initiatives aimed at reducing its environmental impact, Kuraki carried out renovation work on the lighting at its No. 4 Plant in May 2018 to promote energy conservation by changing the factory lighting to LED. As the factory is where metalwork for large parts takes place, hoist cranes are used frequently, and the workers are repeatedly switching between looking up at the ceiling and at what they are doing, so taking this into account, the fixtures were carefully selected after repeated on-site tests to ensure they wouldn't get in the way of the work.

LEDioc μs lights were installed, upgrading from the existing 400W high ceiling mercury lamps. The new lights are LED high ceiling lighting fixtures that use surface emission to significantly remedy glare, ensuring a brightness equivalent to that of the previous lighting while realizing a favorable lighting environment with suppressed glare.
