Producing light levels equivalent to 1000W metal halide floodlights whilst managing to suppress glare, LEDioc FLOOD ZEST Simple Model class 500 floodlights illuminate the athletics stadium to provide a bright and pleasant lighting environment for nighttime use.

Set within the Hitachi Municipal Sports Park, its athletics stadium is equipped with an 8-lane, 400m all-weather track, a natural turf field, and spectator seating (main stand), and is certified as a Category 3 facility by the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF); of course widely used for a full range of track and field activities, the natural turf field of the facility also hosts numerous soccer and rugby matches. In addition to the athletics stadium, the Hitachi Municipal Sports Park also features an array of facilities including a baseball field, tennis courts, and the Ikenokawa Sakura Arena (a multipurpose sports arena), making it a venue that is widely appreciated by many locals as a place to enjoy sporting and recreational activities.
Works were carried out in March 2022 by the City of Hitachi to install a lighting scheme at the athletics stadium in order to open it up for nighttime use, with high-efficiency, high-output LEDioc FLOOD ZEST Simple Model class 500 floodlights being mounted upon six lighting columns. The scheme is designed so as to ensure the floodlights provide even coverage across the whole track, and with an average illuminance level of 100ℓx within the track area, the scheme satisfies the requirements for outdoor athletics and sports at recreational level under the JIS Lighting Regulations.
The floodlighting arrangement atop the main stand has also been updated, with the installation of 12 units of the LEDioc FLOOD ZEST Simple Model class 500 floodlight. Producing light levels equivalent to 1000W metal halide floodlights, the class 500 floodlights have helped to deliver major energy savings whilst also maintaining illuminance levels equaling and bettering those of the previous scheme, bringing a bright and pleasant light scene to the athletics stadium which is enjoyed by many locals for a variety of uses.
