IWASAKI ELECTRIC CO.,LTD. delivers high efficiency LED road/street lightings with wireless function which support next generation control system utilizing the wireless network through Minebea Co., Ltd. (hereinafter Minebea) to the Kingdom of Cambodia (hereinafter Cambodia).

IWASAKI ELECTRIC has been promoting the development of the LED lighting products with wireless function that are capable of controlling the dimming level and blinking of the lights, and of monitoring the lighting status via the wireless network at the joint venture with Minebea, MIK Smart Lighting Network Co., Ltd.*1. Since Minebea has been selected*4 as the business operator for introducing high efficiency street lighting utilizing wireless network at 5 locations in Cambodia*3 as part of the “JCM model project”*2 entrusted by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan, it has been determined that 9,000 units or more of the LED road/street lightings with wireless function manufactured under the technology cooperation with IWASAKI ELECTRIC would be delivered over the period of the next 3 years.
Although there has been a past result of IWASAKI ELECTRIC cooperating with Minebea at an overseas location for having delivered approx.250 units of high efficiency LED roadway lighting to “Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone”*5 last December, this is the first case in the world where LED illumination devices with wireless function are adopted on a large scale.

IWASAKI ELECTRIC has established a sales location in Thailand, “EYE LIGHTING (THAILAND) CO., LTD.” this October for the purpose of expanding the sales activities within the entire ASEAN region which is showing a rapid economic growth, to have 2 locations (the other in Singapore) in the region. We will reinforce our sales activities for the energy-saving high functionality lighting mainly for the LED products not only in Thailand but also in Cambodia, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Laos where IWASAKI almost has had no delivery results in the past. Cooperation with Minebea and other companies will be actively promoted in order to further accelerate deploying our lighting business inoverseas.

*1 Joint venture established in 2014 between Minebea Co., Ltd. and KOIZUMI LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY CORP. which develops LED lighting devices which support the next generation control system utilizing the wireless network by Paradox Engineering in Switzerland.
