Installation date

March, 2016

In March of this year, Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd., upgraded the Odakyu Line Shinjuku South Entrance surface line on-premise maintenance passageway lighting from the existing Mercury lamps to LED lighting, installing LEDioc HIGH-BAY α LED highceiling lighting fixtures, with the objectives of power savings and increased brightness. Special-environment-type fixtures were selected to provide protection against dust, due to their being installed in gravel-covered areas under man-made platforms. Vibrations and waterproofing were also taken into account, as the fixtures are installed above the lines. The LEDioc HIGH-BAY α lights (special-environment-type) have achieved large-scale power savings, ensuring a brightness equivalent to the 400W Mercury lamps with a power consumption of 111W. The locations for the lighting fixtures were kept the same, with the metal fittings for the existing lighting fixtures reused. Wide-angle light distribution has been employed to brightly light the space, ensuring power savings and a greater brightness than was previously the case.
