about

Installation date

October, 2017(Held period:November 1-November 23)

Every year in the town of Fujikawaguchiko, in the season for Autumn leaves, the Fujikawaguchiko Autumn Leaves Festival is held on the banks of Lake Kawaguchi. In 2017 it was held from November 1-23, with stalls for eating, drinking, local products and crafts set up in the nearby areas, and a variety of events held on the stage provided at the venue. During the period, there was an illumination of the vividly colored maple trees mainly focused on the "Maple Corridor", where roughly 60 giant maple trees stand in a line, and the area bustled with many people enjoying the fantastical scenery that differed from the daytime appearance. Previously, 270W incandescent light-bulbs had been used as the main light sources for the illumination, but this time, high-chroma and high-color-rendering LEDioc FLOOD NEO Vivid (incandescent type) LED floodlights from Iwasaki Electric were used. Lights with ultra-wide light distribution were used in the Maple Corridor, making it brighter than usual, and because the fittings are installed above the pedestrian pathway, the safety of visitors was also taken into account by using fittings that generated less heat and had a lower risk of glass breaking compared to the previous incandescent light-bulbs. The LEDioc FLOOD NEO Vivid (incandescent type) lights are excellent at reproducing reds and greens, and they lit the beautifully colored maple trees more naturally and vividly, instead of artificially, something which was well received by visitors.
