Headquartered in the town of Nagasu, in Kumamoto Prefecture, Yuken Industry is a maker of self-propelled, multi-storey car parks that has established an integrated production control system covering design, manufacturing, and construction in order to respond to the needs of customers in locations ranging from Hokkaido in the north to Okinawa in the south. The company's headquarters has a total of 10 factories, including 4 completed in 2016, where it manufactures self-propelled, multi-storey car parks, as well as general steel frames for factories and warehouses, and general processed metal products for road lighting and signage poles. The company carried out an upgrade of the existing lighting in its self-propelled, multi-storey car park product machining factory from the existing mercury lamps to LED lighting. In addition to achieving large-scale power savings, the upgrade also enabled the improvement of the work environment inside the factory, and in particular enabled sufficient brightness to be ensured with just LED lighting during welding work, which was an area where there had been problems in the past due to insufficient brightness.
