LED high-ceiling lighting fixtures (LEDioc HB200) and LED floodlights (LEDioc FL90) comfortably light the arcade entrance, and also contribute to reducing maintenance work due to their long-life ratings.

The high ceiling lighting fixtures installed at the arcade entrance are power-saving LEDioc HB200 fixtures, which have a light output equal to, or greater than, 400W metal halide types.

The LEDioc HB light fixtures installed in place of the old downlights include dimmer controls, which enables their brightness to be adjusted if required for events or the like.

Kamitori is a shopping avenue 600m long and 11m wide in the center of Kumamoto City running from Torichosuji Street to Namikizaka Street. The southern section of the shopping avenue is a totally-covered arcade lined with the eaves of shops such as restaurants, clothing boutiques and book stores. Renovation work was carried out at Kamitori Arcade last fall with the aging roof's polycarbonate middle section being replaced and all of the existing mercury lamp fixtures being changed to LED types. The positions for the light fixtures were maintained, with the downlights, upper lights and wall-surface lights changed to LED versions. Through this renovation, a large-scale savings in power and maintenance costs have been realized. Dimmer-enabled LEDioc HB lights were chosen for this work so that the brightness levels can be controlled depending on the various needs of the retails involved and for special events. The reaction from customers and visitors have been favorable, their remarks referring to how much brighter it has become after the renovation.
