Long life; compact; energy efficient - these are amongst the key characteristics that are offered by LED technology, and through the use of light that has been optically controlled via a lens, Iwasaki has succeeded in creating light distribution optimal for use in everyday lighting, entering into a new phase of LED lighting.
LED is the acronym for“Light Emitting Diode,”which can actually be categorized as a type of semiconductor - when electric current is applied to it, the LED emits light. In 2002, Iwasaki Electric developed an LED recessed fitting to enhance the dramatic effects of various environments. In 2005, when LEDs began to attract attention for their potential as a light source, Iwasaki commercialized streetlights and approach lights that combined LEDs with 1W-type reflecting mirrors. Today, as high-output LEDs come to the fore and demand grows for ever brighter LED lighting, Iwasaki is focusing its efforts on the promotion of products that carry the ‘control’ of LED light as a core philosophy.Products in this line-up include outdoor lighting equipment, such as streetlights incorporating 5W-type lens-shaped LEDs, as well as security lights, and floodlights.
